Bible verse of the month

"For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-dicipline."

2 Timothy 1:7

In July, the summer after I graduated high school, my boyfriend, Sean, decided that he wanted to take me on a trip, but he wouldn't tell me where we were going. My parents knew and while I was away working at Elkhorn Valley Christian Service Camp, I was soooo annoyed that no one would tell me what was going on. After a week at work, my mom and my brother came to bring me home. My mom asked me if I had figured out where I was going yet. I said that all I knew was that it was going to be the 4th of July weekend and I needed a bathing suit because I might get wet. I also knew that I needed a dress for the evening out. Mom asked again if I knew where I was going and I said (these words exactly) "I don't know, Niagara Falls!?" Well, my parents made sure that they didn't spill the beans, but that was exactly where Sean took me! I wish that I had a camera so I could have taken pictures from that day. It wasn't exactly how Sean wanted it to go, but everything turned out wonderfully! Why is that you ask? Well, that was when Sean asked me to marry him! So, going into my freshman year of college, I was engaged to married! The following photos are of my friends and my fiance during my freshman year at Mount Union College (before the name change to the University of Mount Union).
I got into college with a music scholarship. I played clarinet all through high school and now in marching band in college!

These are my friends and my fiance all going to Cope formal
(a formal dance, sponsored by the band fraternity,  for all students involved with Cope Music Hall)

Freshman year was so much fun!

The spring of my Sophomore year of college, my friends and I took a  day trip to Pittsburgh , we really got lost coming home! But that's what made it fun. :)
That summer, my fiance and I went with the Monongahela Expedition Camp at Elkhorn Valley Christian Service Camp. During that week, I learned how strong I was, how stubborn I was, and what my weaknesses were. That week we went white water rafting, and backpacking. Some days I had fun and some days, I never want to repeat again. I nearly fell off the side of the mountain because my foot slipped  off a foothold while climbing up the trail. I scared to death about some things, but  learned a lot that week.
